In 2023, over 430 volunteers contributed more than 40,350 hours to Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario and our vision of a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.
The theme of National Volunteer Week this year is “Volunteering Weaves Us Together.”
During National Volunteer Week 2024 (NVW), we come together to recognize and celebrate the profound impact of each and every volunteer. Now more than ever, Every Moment Matters!
The theme for this year's NVW is "Every Moment Matters," emphasizing the significance of every volunteer and their contributions at a time when support is needed more than ever. The sharing of time, skills, empathy, and creativity is essential to fostering inclusivity, strength, and well-being within our communities.
Along with thousands of other not-for-profits supported by volunteers from coast to coast, we celebrate their collective impact: through their kindness, generosity and commitment to volunteering, we weave our lives together. By getting involved we find friendship, develop trust, and link our relationships. Threading these connections, we contribute towards the same goals. Sharing our time, talent and energy strengthen the fabric of our community. Every Habitat volunteer makes a difference! We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, experience, skills and stages of life.
About Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario
Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario is a charitable organization dedicated to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. Serving the regions of London, Middlesex, Oxford, Elgin, Brant, Norfolk, and Perth, the organization works alongside volunteers, donors, and community partners to create safe and affordable housing for families in need. By providing a hand-up rather than a hand-out, Habitat empowers families to break the cycle of poverty through sustainable homeownership. In addition to building homes, Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario also operates ReStores, where donated new and gently used items, such as furniture, appliances, lighting fixtures, décor, building materials, tools, electronics and more, are sold to fund building projects and support local communities.
